For 2010 The First Tee of Pine Ridge is offering programming at Wolf Creek School in Pine Ridge, Batesland School in Batesland, Rockyford, Red Cloud Indian School, Loneman School, Red Shirt School and the Gordon-Rushville Middle/Elementary School.

Summer time programming will be starting in June of 2010 at Sand Ridge Golf Course in Rushville, Gordon Golf and Country Club in Gordon Nebraska, Legend Buttes Golf Course in Crawford Nebraska, Ridgeview Country Club in Chadron Nebraska, and the Martin Golf Course in Martin South Dakota.  The driving range will be open again this summer in Pine Ridge to provide programming to all the kids in Pine Ridge. The fee for the summer of 2010 will once again be $20.00 and that is good for the entire summer. The fee includes free range access and golf course access during the time programming is occuring in each town.

The Spring semester of 2010 we will be offering Target training which is more of an outreach or one-time type of program. Sumer of 2010 we will offer the new PLAYer program, Par, Birdie, and Eagle programming which is more Life Skills and the Nine Core Values. Students learn how to meet and greet and how to handle adversity when things aren't going the right way.

The First Tee Nine Core Values: Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Confidence, Responsibility, Perseverance, Courtesy and Judgment.

  Instruction
Our instructor is Chris Heiser.  Chris is also our executive director. He hopes to have volunteer help from the parents and from some of the high school students that are interested in golf. The First Tee of Pine Ridge will offer all the different levels of The First Tee programming; Player, Par, Birdie, Eagle and also TARGET training. If you are interested in volunteering or have a child that would like to attend please contact Chris Heiser @ 308-360-1995 or email thefirstteeofpineridge@hotmail.com. All kids are welcome to any of the programming we have.

The First Tee Life Skills Experience

The First Tee Life Skills Experience is one of the unique features that differentiates The First Tee from many other successful junior golf programs.  Through the Life Skills Experience, participants learn valuable lessons about the importance of maintaining a positive attitude; how to make decisions by thinking about the possible consequences and how to define and set goals from the golf course to everyday life.
The First Tee Certification Process

The First Tee wants everyone who completes The First Tee Experience to have acquired basic golf skills and to be able to demonstrate certain fundamental life skill concepts – such as interpersonal communication and the importance of rules and etiquette.
The First Tee Coach

The First Tee Coach Program is an educational training program that prepares staff and volunteers at Chapters of The First Tee to deliver The First Tee Life Skills Experience, which includes the TARGET program, as well as the Par, Birdie, Eagle and Ace levels of certification.
Assistant Coach Training
The First Tee Assistant Coach Training for individuals who want to be more involved with the ongoing coaching and mentoring of The First Tee participants at the Chapter level but may not be able to spend the time required to become recognized as a The First Tee Coach.
